Server
The ShackConnect Server is a device installed at your HAM station. It connects up to 4 radios and any number of other USB & LAN devices (rotators, switches, etc.) to the cloud so they can be controlled remotely from anywhere you have a computer and internet access.
No advanced network configuration knowledge is needed. All you have to do is connect your Server to the internet with an Ethernet cable, and it will connect to the ShackConnect cloud automatically.
If you want to build a radio club setup for multiple concurrent operators, use multiple server devices by adding Extra Server subscriptions!
To get your Server, you either:
- Buy a pre-configured Server device from our online shop — it arrives ready to use, you only need to attach it to your account by entering its S/N.
- Build your own (DIY) — download a device image and flash it onto your own Raspberry Pi. See DIY devices (Basic version only).
Buying a Server device does not include access to the ShackConnect Cloud. Every Server device must be attached to a Server slot in your account. Without a Server slot, the hardware cannot be used.
You get one Server slot with your license subscription, and can add extra slots to connect multiple stations.
You can buy a bundle that includes Server and Client hardware together with a license at a discounted price!
Bundles come in both Basic and Pro variants.
Variants
ShackConnect Server comes in two variants: Basic and Pro. Both can be ordered through our shop.
The Basic version is cheaper, and you can also build it yourself - see DIY devices. You can connect unlimited USB and LAN devices to the cloud and control them remotely from customizable dashboards in your web browser, or from any external application by also using a local Client device.
The Pro version can do everything the Basic version can, and also provides the following additional features not available in the Basic version:
- Remote / Local Switch - allows you to switch your USB devices from remote use to a local PC at the push of a button without physically unplugging them. The Server Pro has a USB-C port for connecting to a local PC, and acts like a USB hub for the connected devices when switched to local operation. Useful if you want to operate from your shack as well as remotely, without any rewiring.
- Morse Keyer - allows you to send either preconfigured or live messages in CW mode from the browser or an external app. Can be combined with a Client Pro device to also add paddle / key input ability.
- Programmable Relays and Inputs - perform arbitrary automation in your shack with 8 programmable relays and 2 optically isolated inputs.
